It is with great pleasure and honor that I announce the hosting of the 18th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Neural Repair and Neurorehabilitation (JSNRNR), along with the 7th Japan-Taiwan-Korea Neurorehabilitation Conference. This significant event will take place on Saturday, March 13th and Sunday, March 14th, 2027, with the Kagoshima Prefectural Citizens' Exchange Center (Kakuix Koryu Center) in Kagoshima City serving as our main venue. As the President of this esteemed Congress, I extend my warmest greetings and a heartfelt welcome to all participants.
Since its establishment in 2010, the JSNRNR has been dedicated to promoting interdisciplinary exchange among professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. Our core mission is to contribute to the research, development, dissemination, and advancement of reconstructive and rehabilitation medicine for neurological diseases. Furthermore, we strive to establish and expand high-quality environments for patients requiring neurorehabilitation and reconstructive medical care. We are particularly excited that this will be the first time for our society to host its annual meeting in the vibrant city of Kagoshima.
The JSNRNR is proud to be one of the National Societies of the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation (WFNR). We regularly organize an international conference involving Japan, Taiwan, and Korea on a rotating basis. It is a great privilege for us to host the 7th Japan-Taiwan-Korea Neurorehabilitation Conference concurrently with our annual meeting here in Japan. We sincerely believe this joint conference represents a unique and invaluable opportunity to further strengthen our international collaboration and academic exchange, especially with our esteemed colleagues from Korea and Taiwan.
The central theme for this year's conference is "Neurorehabilitation: Fire Together – From the Frontiers to the Future." This theme is based on the biological principle that neuronal connections strengthen when nerve cells activate simultaneously. Through this concept, we aspire to bring together physicians, therapists, and researchers—all operating at the forefront of neurological disorder treatment and rehabilitation—to engage in dynamic and insightful academic discussions. Our shared aim is to encourage new ideas, share knowledge, and together advance the field of neurorehabilitation toward even greater advancements.
We sincerely hope that the synergy between the cutting-edge knowledge and techniques presented, and the wide range of frontline experiences of our members and all participants, will serve as a powerful driving force for the future development of neurorehabilitation. We look forward to your active participation and look forward to welcoming you to Kagoshima for what promises to be an inspiring and fruitful conference.
